Why Eagle Market Makers?

Eagle Market Makers is a member firm of the Chicago Board of Trade. As such, we can offer our customers cheaper rates because we do not have to go through a clearing firm - we are the clearing firm.

Ron Manaster, a thirty-seven year veteran of the trading pits at the CBOT, founded eagle in 1984. The firm was founded for professional traders - people that make their living trading futures. In the 1990s, trading began the move from the trading pits in Chicago to an electronic platform, enabling traders to be anywhere in the world and receive the same service and benefits previously available only to exchange members. As the dynamics of trading have changed, Eagle has led the way in electronic clearing by:

  • Building the fastest network allowing for the fastest order routing,
  • Developing a state-of-the-art infrastructure that, in addition to speed, is among the most stable in the industry,
  • Building an excellent twenty-four hour trading desk,
  • Assimilating an extraordinary technical help desk for any technical problems you may experience, and
  • Reducing commission rates to the point that "off the floor" traders are paying the same low rates as exchange members.

Eagle still clears many professional traders that have successfully made the transition from the trading pits to the screen, as well as, some floor traders in the grains pits - the only complex in Chicago that does not have concurrent pit and electronic trading. Some of these traders are now offering mentoring services to less experienced traders with the hopes that more people will be able to make a living trading futures and enjoy the wonderful lifestyle that trading allows. Traders can log on to our chat room, moderated by an experienced trader, that discusses the current markets (agricultural, stock index and interest rate), technical indicators, and address any market questions asked by participants. In addition, seminars will be held periodically in Chicago, on line and at various locations around the country. It is our best interest for our customers to succeed because that, quite frankly, is how we succeed - and grow - ourselves.
